Senior Designer Embedded Systems

What are you going to do as a Senior Designer Embedded Systems?

As Senior Designer you will be part of the operational group within Neways Technologies and the Embedded Systems department. Together with your colleagues you will be responsible for the electronics part of the solutions: systems or products, which we develop and produce for and in consultation with our customers. In your position you fulfil an intermediary role between the customer and the department and frequent customer contact is a must. By asking the right questions you get the customer’s wishes to the surface so that we can offer a solution that meets the customer’s needs as closely as possible. From your professional adult role you are able to manage juniors in addition to your own work and teach them the tricks of the trade.

In this position, you will be working on a variety of projects in a project-based manner, with a wide variety of projects falling within your work package. You can think of projects within the automotive, industry, medical or semiconductor industry. Together with the project leader, you coordinate the planning and discuss the progress and deviations within the project and you are the one who draws the content of the project. 

Your tasks also include:

  • acting as an enquiry and technical coach for customers and team members;
  • maintaining and developing your own knowledge within the field;
  • transferring knowledge and experience to colleagues;
  • providing technical support to the commercial department within Neways;
  • working according to design methods, procedures, guidelines, instructions and plans;
  • drawing up and monitoring the schedules of our own work and of the assigned project team members;
  • quality assurance in projects and studies in accordance with the Neways Technologies quality system;
  • making recommendations to improve the quality system. 


What do we ask of you as a Senior Designer Embedded Systems?

You are driven by technology, you are eager and you also want to assert yourself within the organization. You are technically strong in terms of content and know how to involve your colleagues in your ideas and designs. Together you want to achieve the desired result and easily create the ‘group feeling’ within the team. By nature you are a real team player, you like to work together and you radiate a positive energy. In addition to being strong in a team, you can also fulfill your function well on your own. It goes without saying that you are neat and accurate in your work and thus ensures that your designs are made as optimally and accurately as possible.

Furthermore, we ask:

  • a completed Higher/Academic education in electronics or similar;
  • academic work and thinking level;
  • at least 10 years of work experience in a similar position;
  • management experience is an advantage;
  • experience with CE, EMC directive and UL standards;
  • knowledge of CAD tools (Spice, Matlab, Altium, DXdesigner);
  • good knowledge and experience with MS Office Word and Excel;
  • good communication and writing skills in Dutch and English;
  • fulltime availability.
